The pool… Woo! I have always loved the water. I have water skied all my life, had a swimming pool in the back yard, and love to jump off diving boards. I would have never thought that I would feel so beat up after swimming laps. For the last week and a half I have been swimming at the Fairhope Pool. I tell you what; I am slap worn out when I am done swimming. It is great exercise though.
“Don't you know that you are God's sanctuary and that the Spirit of God lives in you?” 1 Cor. 3:16 I have read this verse many times, and have used it many times in sermons, but it really hit me hard in the last week or so. God has given us only one body to live in. He has come into our hearts as believers and dwells in us as the Holy Spirit. It is our responsibility to take care of this body that God has given us.
Now I am not going to turn into some health nut, but I am going to change some things in my life to better reflect my love for my Savior. My motivation will be to glorify God through my body. I don’t want to ever be in a situation where I can’t do the will of God because my body will not allow me. So to the best of my ability I am going to surrender my body to the Lord.
When was the last time that Scripture rocked your world? What about your body? What are you doing to take care of it and show others that you love God just based on how you treat your body, what you put in your mouth, and how you take care of it?
“For you were bought with a price; therefore honor God with your body.” 1 Cor. 6:20
